ticket.venice.it is an independent editorial project with one clear aim: to help you work out what to see in Venice, what it really costs and how to book it without paying more than you need to. We cover the civic museums on St Mark’s Square, the Basilica and the Campanile, the art galleries of Dorsoduro, the churches that charge admission, the lagoon islands, the theatres, the passes and vaporetto tickets.
We are not a ticket office. We don’t issue admission tickets, we don’t handle bookings, and there are no accounts or payments on this site. We write in Italian and publish an English version of the same pages.
How we check our information
Every official price and every opening time starts from the primary source: the website of the body that sells the ticket. For the Doge’s Palace and the other civic museums that is the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia; for the Basilica and the Campanile, the price list of the Procuratoria di San Marco; for the vaporetto, the ACTV and Venezia Unica fares; for the access fee, the City Council’s regulation. The sources we used are listed at the bottom of every page, with a direct link.
When two official pages contradict each other, which happens in Venice, we say so instead of picking the most convenient figure. When something cannot be confirmed, we tell you to check it on the official site. Every page carries the date it was last reviewed.
Platform prices come from the data published by Tiqets and GetYourGuide, with the product title, rating and number of reviews. They are dynamic prices: we present them as recorded at the time of checking, and they can change within the same day.
How we make money
The site is free and carries no advertising. Our income comes from partner links to Tiqets and GetYourGuide: if you book after following one, the platform pays us a commission. You pay the price shown on the platform, with nothing added by us.
That doesn’t change the figures we publish. When the official channel is cheaper, we say so plainly: the St Mark’s Square Museums ticket costs €35 both officially and on Tiqets, but drops to €30 on the civic museums’ own site if you book at least 30 days ahead; St Mark’s Basilica costs €10 on the official channel, while the hosted entry on Tiqets costs €19; the Peggy Guggenheim Collection costs €17 at source and €20 as a fast-track ticket on the platform. Prices were recorded on the date shown on each page and may change. The platforms make sense when official slots have sold out, or when you want free cancellation, a guide or a package covering several sights.

Independence
We have no ties to the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, the Procuratoria di San Marco, the Gallerie dell’Accademia, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Teatro La Fenice, ACTV or the City of Venice. We are not an authorised reseller and receive no payment from the organisations we write about. If a website presents itself as “official” when it isn’t, we point it out.

Reporting a mistake
Rules in Venice change often: fares that rise at the start of the season, bookings that become compulsory, access-fee days that shift, closures for acqua alta or restoration.
